Christian Youth Corps for Community Education
According to the statistical data published by the US federal government in 2019, the number of dropouts from schools is increasing among the African Americans, the Hispanic population, and the other minority groups. There are more than 85K elementary schools, 26K secondary schools, and 16K combined schools in the USA. The enrollments are also increasing every year. But if you take a look at the minority groups, the education level seems to be still very low.
The probable reasons could be due to poverty, lack of awareness, the pressure to go for a job rather than school, and many others. According to statistics, 20% African Americans, 16% of Hispanic groups, 22% of American Indians, and 13% of others still remain poor. I have seen the state-wise statistics from Alabama to Washington. Idaho has the largest section with 54% poor among the African Americans.
I feel it is very important to create awareness about the importance of primary education among minority groups in the USA. It is a great responsibility we all must take and contribute. Before that, we have to understand the culture, social values, and other parameters related to these groups. Agreed, that most of them are Christians. But we can also find many people from other faiths. So, we have to be inclusive in our approach to growth and prosperity among all the communities…
Christian Youth Corps – What is it
The Christian Youth Corps is a large community of young and dynamic men and women. Since I am also a part of the group, I think I can take the liberty of using “we”. We are committed to spreading awareness among minority groups about the importance of education. When I say education, I mean more than just the academic style. I include vocational training, automation job training, and more.
The Christian Youth Cops has been constantly working towards enabling the minority groups to have a foothold in the Job-market. We may not be necessarily interested in high paying white-collar jobs, but we are certainly interested in providing a decent life.
Christian Youth Corps – How it Works
We have been active in promoting basic education and job-training among the minority groups in the USA. Our team members go to schools, homes, and community centers for meeting those who have dropped out. We have meetings to know about the exact reasons for the dropout. Then we offer support for meeting the challenges.
Once the kids start going to school, we ensure they stay there. It has been a long term effort and we hope to continue with it in future also.
How You Can Contribute
We are a non-profitable group working for community welfare. You can join us a fundraiser, donor, or volunteer to strengthen our group. We are active throughout the USA and you can reach us on our website from anywhere.
Christian Youth Corps will always be there whenever there is a need for helping hand for the kids and youth who want education, seriously.
